Your Notes:

Peak District, England

First National Park in England, almost all is in Derbyshire.

The ‘Dark Peak’ is the northern portion on acidic rocks, the ‘White Peak’ to the south on limestone.  Hence the dry stone walls of the region are dark in the north and whiter in the south.

There are remote areas and areas of rich farming, besides mineral extraction.

A landscape full of interest and variety.
